2. Nicholas

If you are looking for a more authentic Italian experience, Nicola’s Restaurante located in Totowa, New Jersey is just the place for you. The New York Times gave them a terrific 4-star rating.

Another notable award was their spot on Gayot’s list of the best restaurants in the US.

Their entrées are completely organic and feature an array of many authentic Italian dishes. Dishes include: Zuppa di Clams Posilipo, and Hot and Cold Antipasta.

3. The Peacock Inn

If you find yourself hungry in Princeton stop by the only luxury hotel boutique and fine dining restaurant. The restaurant has a rich   history dating back to even the 1700s!

The hotel is designed in a colonial fashion, staying true to it’s history. The restaurant specializes in New American Cuisine and has received a four star review Cody Kendell of The Star Ledger. They’ve also been listed in New Jersey’s Monthly Magazine for “Best New Restaurants.”

The Peacock Inn serves delicious entrées such as: Sautéed Ricotta Gnochi, Pan Roasted Halibut, Big Eye Tune Tartare, and much, much more.

5. Edward’s Steakhouse

What better way to end this article than by closing with a steakhouse? Edward’s Steakhouse is the crown jewel of Jersey City’s bar and steakhouses. It has a fun prohibition era theme and is located in the historic downtown of Jersey City.

Edward’s Steakhouse is another fine dining restaurant that has been rated well by New Jersey Monthly Magazine. They, just like the Peacock Inn, have also received the Wine Spectator award.

Their menu offers steaks, of course, roast turkey BLT’s, roast beef sandwiches, and more. Plus, steak. Need I say anything else?
