Spring In New York: Events And Great Things To Do Outside

Spring in New York: Events and Great things to do outside

The winter weather has finally left us! The sun is shining through our panoramic suite windows and warming up the office. Spring is my favorite season in New York – not too hot, not too cold, and the city changes as people do more outdoor activities. Restaurant patios reopen, there’s boating in Central Park, and the outdoor theatre season begins. The days are getting longer, so you can do more in one day. With flights on sale nationwide, now is a great time to see the big apple.

You’ve already seen the main tourist attractions, so what can you do instead? Here are staff favorites for the spring:

Alex – Rent a bike.

You may have heard of the new Citi bikes, which cost $9.95 for a day pass. You can have the bike out for 30 minutes, so for a day you can bike between different destinations. If you want to ride for longer, there are many bike shops that will rent you a bike for a whole day. New York is getting very bike friendly and it’s a great way to see the city.

Anne – Riverside Park

Riverside Park is a great place to get some sun in and catch up on that novel you haven’t finished. It’s great to see the water, and it isn’t as crowded as Central Park. Before you go, grab a frozen yogurt from Off the Wall Yogurt on 23rd St.

Arreum – Walk around East Village

Visit the Momofuku Milk Bar on 13th and 2nd for a refreshing ginger beer and a cornflake-marshmallow cookie, then enjoy the beautiful architecture and neighborhood gardens.
