You can take the subway from the city and meander through the neighborhood to gaze at the twinkling lights and lawn decorations on your own, or you can buy a ticket for a tour that will take you on a climate-controlled bus filled with holiday music. The bus will pick up and drop-off at Bryant Park’s Winter Village, just blocks from Rockefeller Center’s famous Christmas tree.
From there, you will be chaperoned by a native Brooklynite that knows the best path and will talk to you about the history of the annual tradition and show you all the houses displaying thousands of lights, reindeer, toy soldiers, life-size cartoon characters, and nativity scenes.
