Fall is here! And with it, all the Autumn treats – pumpkins (and pumpkin spiced EVERYTHING), apple picking, sweaters, hayrides, and most importantly, HALLOWEEN!

 
The time of year where no matter what your age, it is totally acceptable to dress up and play! Are you wondering where to go for Halloween festivities? The wonderful thing about this time of year is that no matter where you go, there is something fun and exciting (and SCARY) to do. Here are just a few Fall activities you can partake in that are close to Dharma’s fully furnished apartments in Miami and Hoboken. Don’t forget to take some awesome Halloween travel photos!

Dharma Novia at Hoboken

At Dharma’s Novia at Hoboken , you are perfectly located to take advantage of all the Halloween fun New York City has to offer. You are just one train, bus, or ferry away from all the excitement of a terrifying immersive performance or a creative and funky parade.

Sleep No More and Halloween Ball


Punchdrunk’s Sleep No More, the immersive theater experience that retells Shakespeare’s Macbeth through the lens of film noir, is already a great year-round event for those who love the macabre, but on Halloween, they have added a ball to round out the night. Audience members can choose their own path by following a specific character from Macbeth through the “McKittrick Hotel”, ensuring a different creepy experience for each person.
 
If you go on October 28, 29, or 31st, you can end the night at their Halloween Ball. Tickets can be together for both events, you can purchase just the ticket for Sleep No More , or you can purchase a ticket for the just the McKittrick Halloween Ball , which comes with an open bar that is included in the price.

The Village Halloween Parade

 
There are many ways to join the festivities going on October 31st in Greenwich Village: You can watch the parade as a plain clothed or costumed bystander; you can join the parade for free as long as you are wearing a themed costume; you can buy a ticket to skip the line and sit in the VIP section; or you can buy a ticket to ride on one of the floats. You can even buy a ticket to lead the parade with the parade’s Artistic Director Jeanne Fleming and have a chance of being interviewed on TV.
 
Not up for walking the whole parade route? You can buy a ticket that will allow you and your costumed friend to ride the parade in a pedicab . This years costume theme is FREEDOM – anything that makes you feel “light, joyous and free”.

Just because Monte Carlo is an oceanfront property doesn’t mean it can’t put on Halloween trappings and get scary. Check out these spooky Halloween events on Miami Beach.

The Horrorland


For five weeks in September and October, Jungle Island is transformed into a Horror Extravaganza , containing over 20 different attractions. One ticket grants you access to the entire walkthrough, which includes eight main haunted attractions, eight scary outdoor zones, bloody carnival games, a horror art exhibition, a fear gift shop, a creepy beer garden, a coffin bar, a macabre food village, and The Vampire Circus. Make sure you can handle all the jump scares – Horrorland does not refund tickets if you get too scared to finish the walkthrough!

The Miami Beach Halloween Half Marathon & Freaky 4-Miler


Put on your scariest costume and best running shoes and join the Halloween Half Marathon Series. Your route starts at South Pointe Park and takes you past beautiful water views for most of your run. If you are not up to the full 13 miles, you can choose to run the Freaky 4-miler instead. Or you can sneak off and escape to Monte Carlo at the half way point, which is only two blocks away. But then you wouldn’t get your Halloween themed medal.

Coral Gables gives us both the scary and the sublime this Halloween with Carnivals and Symphonies that embrace the Halloween spirit. Both of these events are just a short drive away from our one and two bedroom apartment rentals at Grand Plaza.

The House of Horror Haunted Carnival


There are four haunted encounters to survive in this Halloween experience at the Miami International Mall : The Silent Mall, where Misshhhell awaits to bring her wrath down on whomever disturbs her; Drowntown, where you need to avoid the residents or become one; the Insanitorium where the inmates have taken over; and Scare X Studios, an immersive gaming experience.
 
When: September 29 – October 31, 2022.

Spooky Symphony: A Halloween Extravaganza


If your looking for a little culture with your chills and thrills, you’ve come to the right place. Presented in partnership with Greater Miami Youth Symphony and The Children’s Trust, this concert of “macabre masterpieces” is billed as “a frightful and fantastical kid-friendly, multimedia Halloween spectacular for young audiences.” The costumed musicians will present eerie music from movie favorites. This program is appropriate for the entire family, and all are encouraged to watch the presentation in costume.

Miami may not technically have a Fall season, but we sure make up for it in spookiness! Here are some family friendly and not-so-family friendly Halloween festivities close to our fully equipped luxury apartments in South Miami that are sure to put a shiver down your spine.

Spooky Wonderland


Interactive quests, Tarot readings, pumpkin carving and a petting zoo – what more can you ask for? Spooky Wonderland is an Alice in Wonderland fair combined with shows, magic, and a carnival! You have seven quests to fulfill from seven characters from the beloved children’s book. Help Alice build a clock for the White Rabbit or join the Mad Hatter for his Tea Party. You can even play a very dangerous card game with the Red Queen. Don’t forget to stop at the pumpkin carving station where you can smash your own pumpkin!

Historic Ghost Tour

Combine culture, education, and chills together and you get the Deering Estates Historic Ghost Tour. On the tour, guides will discuss historic events, previous inhabitants, and the paranormal activity that has been reported by visitors and staff. Guests are encouraged to bring any equipment used to record paranormal activity.

Sheridan Ocean Club


Broward County is no slouch is the festivities department, as evidenced by these Halloween celebrations for adults and children that are just a few miles from the premium apartment suites at Sheridan Ocean Club .

Hollyweird Halloween

Downtown Hollywood has events for kids and adults all in the same night. From 6:00 – 9:00 PM there will be games, candy and treat stations, and a costume contest. After nine, there will be outdoor bars, live bands, and a costume contest with $10,000.00 in prizes.

Tormented Trails

The Haunt at Tree tops Park is a walk through supernatural experience that takes you through three haunted trails that lead you through the woods. Not sure if your child (or you) are ready to deal with the fright? Don’t worry, there is a “Twilight Experience” that opens while it is still daylight to take some of the terror out for you.
