Stand before a piece of work from the beginnings of the U.S.A. to get your mind off the daily grind and seek inspiration in a piece of history used to rally people together under liberty for all. The
Liberty Bell was used to call people to meetings
or to gather crowds for news announcements, and was used as a symbol in the Civil war abolitionist movements, and for women’s suffrage. It’s 70% copper, 25% tin and contains small amounts of lead, gold, arsenic, silver, and zinc. Upon cracking, a technique called stop drilling was used in 1846 to prevent further fractures, but another split formed shortly after and the bell has not rung since. A Bible verse inscribed on the bell reads: “”Proclaim Liberty Throughout All the Land Unto All the Inhabitants thereof.”
